Myrtle Annaetta Merl, age 81 a resident of Joplin, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
She was born August 8, 1935 in Carthage, Missouri to the late Paul Ketron and Bessie Barker Ketron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Ketron; and a sister, Thelma Gordon.
Myrtle worked as a line cook at the R and M Restaurant, Holiday Inn and Jim Bob's Steak and Ribs.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy Merl and his wife, Diana, of Joplin, Missouri, and Rick Merl, Nevada; two daughters, Linda Burkhart and her husband, J.R., Joplin, Missouri, and Brenda Casey,Kirkwood, Missouri; three sisters, Marjorie Long, Vera Wormington and Wilma Long; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Carterville Park.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
