Mrs. Evelyn Irene Collins, 54, of Granby, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after a sudden illness.
Evelyn entered this life on October 14, 1962, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was raised and attended school in Rogers. Evelyn was a lifelong area resident of Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri. Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also worked for several years at the Rogers Wal-Mart. She has been a resident of Granby, Missouri since 2010. She enjoyed shopping, camping and spending countless hours with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her brother, Rodney Frederick preceded her in death.
On April 17, 1983 she was united in marriage to Ben Collins and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include her five children, Amanda Harris of Newtonia, Missouri, Joy Shephard of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Benjamin Collins of Butterfield, Missouri, William Collins of Granby, Missouri and James Collins also of Granby; ten grandchildren; her mother, Elsie Hennman of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sisters, Letha Tacker of Frankston, Texas, Brenda Clouer of Pea Ridge, Arkansas and Claudia Moppin of Jane, Missouri; two brothers, Claude Barnes, Jr. of Powell, Missouri and Phil Knott of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins are 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Jamey Cope officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
