Quita Del Henson, age 83, of Joplin passed away on Tuesday August 8, 2017, at Joplin Health & Rehab, following an illness.
Quita was born on November 28, 1933 in Hallsville, Mo., the daughter of the late Frank and Opal (Hammond) Hudson. After graduating high school Quita completed two years at Joplin Business School. She worked twenty-seven years as a unit secretary for Freeman Hospital and six years for Crothall Courier Service. She also worked as a secretary for Mason-Woodard Mortuary, and Brinks Armored Car. She was a member of Villa Heights Christian Church. Quita was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughter, Opal Roberts and husband Mike, Joplin; four grandchildren; Ben Bastings, Jessica Roberts, Molly Roberts, and Andrew Roberts, all of Joplin; and a beloved cousin, Duane Rutter, Columbia, Mo. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda F. Bastings on May 30, 2010; and her sister Vicky Stork.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Reverend Paul Dilts will officiate. The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
