Edward S. Johnston, 76, Neosho, passed away November 14, 2017 after a short illness.
He was born January 16, 1941 in Willow Springs, MO to Arthur Edison and Alice Lucy (Gossard) Johnston. Edward lived most of his life in Southwest Missouri and was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the Church of God and Monarch Springs Campground. Edward was a veteran of the US Navy; he was also a pilot and a flight instructor. He loved reading, walking, and riding his bicycle but loved his family most of all.
Edward married Janice Sue Allen on November 4, 1972 in Myrtle, Missouri; she survives of the home. Additional survivors are their children: Adrian Johnston and wife, Tracie, Stephanie Sorrell and husband, Matt, Kristy Probst and husband, Weston, and Clint Johnston and wife, Brooke; his brothers: Ben Johnston and wife, Linda, and Steve Johnston and wife, Janet; and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Johnston and a sister, Rosalie Samons.
Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Granby, MO, with Brother James Bell, Brother Paul Cole, and Brother Ed Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Gibson Cemetery, Neosho, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward’s honor may be made to Monarch Springs Campground c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, MO 64844.
