George Clinton Patrick, age 90, of Joplin, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at his home.
George was born on December 30, 1926 in Joplin to the late Edwin Patrick and Alverda Durr Patrick.
He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for twenty five years, retiring as an installer. George was a sixty year member of Forest Park Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1944-1946.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother, Ervin Patrick; and a son, John Leslie Patrick.
On October 20, 1947, he married Erma Janie Wetstone in Joplin. They celebrated seventy one years together.
Survivors include his wife, Janie, of the home; a son, Steven Patrick and wife, Suzanne, Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Judy Glisson and husband, Kevin, Seneca, MO; seven grandchildren, Bradley Maxwell, Camp La June, CA, Jennifer Patton, Goose Creek, SC, Michael Patrick, Rolando Beach, CA. Curtis Maxwell, Joplin, Erin Alper, Atlanta, GA, Caitlin Maxwell, Seneca, MO, and Sarah Moore, Coffeyville, KS; and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Dr. John Swadley will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, care of Parker Mortuary.
