Shane Michael, age 54, of Joplin, MO passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Shane was born on March 28, 1963 in Lubbock, TX to Bill & Marilyn Michael.
Shane was a successful real estate investor in Tulsa, OK for a period of time before pursuing his true passion for culinary arts as a professional chef. He was ever the adventurer traveling the world and experiencing new places all throughout his life. He was very involved in catering social events and preserving the prayer garden for his church, All Souls of Tulsa, OK.
Shane is survived by his son, Thatcher Michael, his daughter, Ava Michael, and his daughter, Lauren Bush with her husband, Bobby, along with his two grandchildren, Channing and Clara; his sister, Shannon Dunavent with her husband Brad, along with his nephew Reece Welshofer with his wife Alex Welshofer and children Kalli and Kenzie, his niece Madison Humphrey with her husband Ian Humphrey, and his niece Emily Dunavent.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, December 2nd, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
Celebration of life service will be held at All Souls Church in Tulsa, OK on Sunday, December 3rd at 4:30pm.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Acts 1:8 Mission Project at Forest Park Baptist Church or Gideon’s International, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
