Myrtle Dalton

Mrs. Myrtle Maxine Dalton, 89, of Anderson, Missouri departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson.

Myrtle entered this life on March 29, 1931 in Marble City, OK to the late Roy J. and Edna Mae (Morgan)McCollum. She grew up and went to school in Stillwell, OK and was saved in 1952. Later went to college at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, OK graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught school in Arkansas City, KS her first year then in Anderson in 1954. 

 On March 31, 1955 she was united in marriage with Buck R. Dalton and to this union two children were born. 








 While Buck finished up his schooling, she taught in Scammon, KS, Joplin, MO, Pleasanton, Ks and Harrisonville, MO then back to Anderson and taught at various schools in McDonald County. She retired from teaching kindergarten and 1st grade in 1993 however she continued to substitute teach for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Buck on April 14, 2014, two brothers; George R. McCollum and Jack McCollum and two sisters; Violet Keen and Jessie McCaleb.

Myrtle is survived by two sons; Max Dalton and wife Launie of Anderson and David Lee Dalton and wife Jenita of Bentonville, AR, a sister; Billie Baird of Stillwell, OK, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Maxine Dalton will be held Thursday December 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, MO with Brother Terry Baker officiating. Friends my pay there respects at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Wednesday December 2, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
