Luana Henderson

Luana Gay Henderson of Baxter Springs, Kansas passed from this life on February 4, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, she was 63.

Luana was born on July 15, 1957 to Richard and Shirley (Tyler) in Baxter Springs, KS. She married Denny Henderson on September 15, 1990 in Baxter Springs, Kansas, he preceded her in death in 2004. 

She worked as an upholsterer for Tracker Marine before getting ill. She was well known as a bartender and then manager at the VFW Post 408 in Baxter Springs, Kansas for many years. She lived in the area most of her life.

Luana enjoyed being in the yard, gardening, sewing, shopping and loved time with her grandkids. She loved her shopping experiences with her good friend Robin Byrd. Luana always looked forward when her dear friend Mary Ransome would come and visit.

Luana is survived by two sons Patrick Henderson and wife Shawna of Joplin, Missouri, Tyler Henderson of Baxter Springs, Kansas. Two brothers Denny Clark and wife Missy of Galena, Danny Clark of Baxter Springs, Kansas, she is also survived by nieces and nephews Justine Moderson, Chelsea Labitad, Michael Potter, Daniel Clark and also three grandchildren Jaxson Henderson, Tahlia Rundle, and AJ Henderson

She is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Shirley Clark and sister Melinda Clark

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday February 14, 2021 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs, Kansas. A visitation will be held 1:00pm on the same day. The family has entrusted Derfelt Funeral Home for arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
