Carol Smith

Carol Faye Smith of Miami, OK passed from this life Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. She was 74.

Carol was born September 29, 1947 inn Commerce, OK to Andrew and Ruby (Sisco) Eddings. She had lived in the Commerce and Miami area all her life. She was a 1965 graduate of Commerce High School. She attended Notheastern Oklahoma A & M College in Miami, Missouri Southern State University in Joplin and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. She received her Master's Degree in Education.








Carol taught at Welch and Afton Schools and was a Literary Arts Professor at Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College in Miami for 23 years. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami, the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Education Association and former National Director of Phi Theta Kappa.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Adam Brian Smith, her parents and 2 brothers, Carl Eddings and Burt Eddings.

Carol is survived by her husband Andrew Smith of the home, her daughter, Christi Smith and fiance John Erbar of Guthrie, OK, 1 brother, Kevin Eddings and husband Michael of Yukon, OK, 1 sister, Grace Ann Combs and husband Ron of Commerce, OK, 5 grandchildren, Adam Chaswell Smith and wife Lyndsey, Caitlyn Smith, Courtnei Young and wife Rachel Relic, Cameron Smith and Andrew Cole Young and wife Alexa and 2 great-grandchildren, Beatrice Young and Ainsley Smith.

Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami, OK with Rev. Terry Smith officiating.
