Tamelia Edwards

Tamelia R. Edwards, 49, of Galesburg, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg.

Tamelia Renee Dunford was born on February 10, 1972, to Lauren Lynn and Euleta Delane (Dickerson) Dunford in Lamar, Missouri. She grew up and attended school in Liberal and Lockwood, Missouri, graduating from Liberal High School in 1991.






 

Following high school, she earned an Associate’s degree from Fort Scott Community College. For a time, she worked at U.S. Awards in Pittsburg. On May 10, 1999, she and Arthur A. “Art” Edwards were united in marriage in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. After their marriage, Tamelia devoted her life to raising their children.

She was an active member of Galesburg Christian Church. Spending time with her family was the highlight of Tamelia’s life. She especially enjoyed watching her sons race motorcycles. Crafting, fishing and Geocaching were some of her other favorite pastimes.

Survivors include:

Her husband – Arthur Edwards, of the home

Three sons – Shannen Evans of El Dorado Springs, Missouri

Tallon Edwards and his wife, Lindsay, of Galesburg, Kansas

Corey Edwards of Galesburg, Kansas

One daughter – McKenna Sturgell of Arcadia, Kansas

One granddaughter – Braelyn Renee Edwards

Her father – Lauren Dunford of Lamar, Missouri

Her mother – Euleta Barger of Liberal, Missouri

One brother – Joseph Barger of Liberal, Missouri

One sister – Jennifer Dickerson of College Station, Texas

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Galesburg Christian Church at a later date.
