Edward Morey

Mr. Edward Lee Morey, 89, of Southwest City, Missouri passed away January 29, 2022, at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after an illness.

Edward was born December 24, 1932, Bernice, Oklahoma to the late Charles and Marze (Landrum) Morey. 

Edward was united in marriage on September 4, 1955, to Peggy Schoonover in Carson City, Nevada. In 1980 he retired as co-owner of Superior Automatic Sprinkler Corporation. He then moved with his family from Gilroy CA to Southwest City MO. 








Edward was a proud Cherokee Nation member, Army veteran and member of The American Legion, member of the Oklahoma Cattleman Association, enjoyed cattle ranching, playing baseball, and supported the local ball program in Southwest City. Edward was a devoted family man and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren.

Edward is survived by his wife Peggy of Southwest City, MO, 2 sons; Jerry Morey of Southwest City and Frank Morey of Grove, OK, 3 daughters; Jackie Turner and husband John of Grove, OK, Judy Heston and husband Michael and Pamela Jones and husband Wendell all of Southwest City, MO, a sister; Erna Garrison of Concord, CA, 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grand child on the way, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Lee Morey will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, MO with Pastor J.R. Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery. 

Those honoring Edwards life by servings as pallbearers are; Aaron Reece, Jeremy Buchite, Cody Turner, Daetin Morey, Jake Jones, T.J. Crockett. Respected honorary pallbear Willford Englert. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Southwest City Ball Park Flag foundation, contributions may be made at the Cornerstone Bank in Southwest City.
