Mary Koogle

Mary M. Koogle, 94, a longtime Parsons resident, died at 8:02 P.M., Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home.

She was born January 8, 1928, in Great Bend, Kansas a daughter of Harley Emmett and Helen Marie (Jackson) Price. Mary grew up and attended schools in Great Bend, graduating from Great Bend High School in 1946.
She worked at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Great Bend as a switchboard operator and later in the business office.

On September 2, 1961, she was united in marriage to Warren S. Koogle in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2022.








She worked with her husband in the family business, Star Cleaners, in Great Bend. In 1978 she moved to Parsons where she and her husband owned and operated Koogle’s Quality Cleaners until their retirement in 1998.

Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and painting with watercolors.

She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Swob of Great Bend, KS, Terri Sprenkle of Independence, KS, Jennifer Hurst of Parsons, KS, and Rachel Koogle of Parsons, KS; ten grandchildren, Christopher Swob of Denver, CO, Benjamin Swob of Sioux City, IA, Sarah Cooper of Parsons, KS, Charles Cooper of Independence, KS, Thomas Cooper of Independence, KS, Taylor Bettles Of Lawrence, KS, Shelby Bettles of Lawrence, KS, Kristina Good of Parsons, KS, Madison Walters of Joplin, MO, and Nicholas Matthews of Parsons, KS, Many great-grandchildren, a brother, Gerald Price of Fort Collins, CO, and a sister, Judy Smith of Great Bend, KS. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Dale Allen, a brother, Larry Price, and a sister, Patricia Thompson.

Memorial services for Mary and Warren will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16 at the First Christian Church with Reverend Laurie Lewis officiating. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at their convenience.
