Salena Norman

Salena Nicole Norman, age 43, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Salena was born August 21, 1978 in Elgin, Illinois, daughter of the late union of James Sr. and Sharon (Martin) Wiley. She attended Friendship Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO growing up. 

She married the love of her life, Bobby Norman, in Eureka Springs, AR. in 2014. 








She enjoyed horses, traveling, dancing, gymnastics, shopping, guitars, and swimming. Salena loved listening to music and her favorite genres were country and gospel. She always had a smile on her face and loved writing inspirational quotes. She enjoyed watching sports, especially her team, the Dallas Cowboys. As a little girl, she sang in the church choir and competed in pageants in Joplin. She wanted to be a news anchor or actor growing up. She enjoyed all things turquoise colored.

In addition to her parents, Salena was preceded in death by her older brother; and adopted parents, Charlie and Deloris (Trezvant) Ferguson.

Salena is survived by her husband, Bobby Norman; one son, Sir Lang Niko Momon; one daughter, Denize Sina Lewis-Johnson; one brother, James Nathaniel Ferguson Jr.; foster parents, Campy and Colleen Benson; foster brother, Aaron Benson; foster sister, Ashley Benson; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Bryan Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are requested to Frisco Church in Webb City.
