Robb was the remarkable writer. So he will have to bear with us.
Robb passed away on July 1st, 2022 at his home in Harrisburg, PA. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on April 11th, 1962 to the late Robert James and Lois Mae (Larock) Hanrahan. He liked to brag he was born with "the 411".
Robb became a life-long journalist because he had an intrinsic purpose to make the world a better place through the dissemination of truth. But in the end, all he really had to do to brighten this realm was to be himself.
In front of the camera, Robb was unflappable. Behind the camera, glasses off, he was silly, charming and oh so lovable.
He was our own personal Superman. Robb was a deeply loving father & husband, hysterical impressionist, passionate guitar player and dramatic karaoke singer. One of Robb's biggest thrills in life was driving anything with an engine: cars, motorcycles, boats, planes.
Robb held many titles at work – anchor, reporter, producer. But it was the titles he held with family and friends – daddy, Robbie, brother, uncle – he treasured the most. Friends in New York and Miami will remember "Captain Robb." And possibly his favorite title came towards the end as "Coach Robb" for his son's baseball team.
Everyone always told him he should write a book. He had all the material from covering huge world events like 9/11 to his own personal near-death experience two years ago. We don't need a book. Our memories of him will carry the messages of compassion he wished so much for this world to embrace.
Robb was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Hanrahan.
Surviving is his loving wife, Stacey (Strussion) Hanrahan; his daughter, Hannah; his son, Vann; two brothers, Steve (Vicki) of Wisconsin and Mike (Theresa) of Florida; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robb's memory can be made to UPMC Pinnacle Foundation, PO Box 8700, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
