(From Weng Funeral Chapel)Vicki Sue Miller January 27, 1948 June 29, 2022
Vicki was born in Lamar, Missouri, on January 27, 1948 to Roy and Mary Hooper Miller. This little redheaded girl was welcomed at home by Dorothy, Don and Gerry. She grew up on the farm just outside Milford and attended country school there before going to Lamar and graduating in the LHS Class of 1965.
After graduation Vicki went to work at O’Sullivan Industries. Her life took a tragic turn in 1967 when she was in a car wreck that left her in a wheelchair for the remainder of her life. Vicki took this in stride and after rehabilitation went to work at Barton County Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk transcribing notes for the doctors.
Vicki was a competent and dependable employee for nearly three decades before health made her retirement necessary. She was always determined to be self-sufficient despite her handicap. After retirement she was devoted to her mom. Hours were spent fishing and playing cards even after Mary went to assisted living.
In later years Vicki moved to Sarcoxie and met the truest of friends. Tonie, “Nyman”, Jara, Bill and Betty became her best friends and were always there as caregivers when needed. They spent many hours playing cards, watching the Chiefs (sometimes pretty spirited!) and just enjoying their friendship, Vicki’s family well be grateful forever for the care and love they gave Vicki.
