Janet Irene Gonzalez, 61, of Noel, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 29, 1961 in Okinawa, Japan to the late, Ross and Yukie (Hatore) Horton. She worked as a USDA Inspector at Tyson’s in Noel, Missouri for 22 years. 

Janet was a loving mother and grandmother, kind to everyone she met, always loyal to her friends and family. She was strong, courageous, genuine, and funny. She enjoyed diamond painting, music, and butterflies but most of all, spending time with her family.

Janet is survived by her partner, Richard Robinson; former husband, Jose Gonzalez of Southwest City, Missouri; their daughter, Carmen Gonzalez (and fiancé Jonathan Cousins) of Springdale, Arkansas; son, Jose Carlos Gonzalez (and wife, Cassie Gonzalez) of Southwest City, Missouri; grandchildren, Joseph Miller, Tatyauna Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Kenzley Lane and Nevaeh Gonzalez; as well as other family and friends.

Funeral service for Janet will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 7, 2023 at the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home, S. Main and Broadway Street, Southwest City, Missouri. Rev. T. Scott Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
