Lucille Webb

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Clara Lucille “Lucy” Webb, 89, Diamond, MO passed away Sunday, May 5th. Lucille was born September 24th ,1934 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Charley and Carrie Pendergrass.

She was the oldest of eight siblings and often told stories of rocking babies at 5 am while her mom cooked breakfast, sneaking away to her grandparents' house next door then hiding under the tablecloth when her daddy came looking for her, and spending money from a Carhop job to buy dresses for her younger sisters.

Lucille was introduced to the love of her life, Don Webb, in Kansas City by mutual friends. They were married on November 14th ,1959 and lived in Shawnee, KS where they started their family. Don graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1974 and they moved to Diamond, MO to open Webb Chiropractic.

She loved family, creating gifts and practical things for people, was an expert seamstress, enjoyed genealogy, bowled on a league for over 40 years, and never bought anything unless it was on sale. Lucille partnered with Don on many businesses including a barber shop, raising Poodle and Schnauzer puppies, cattle, real estate, working at the office, a muffler shop, the first Elvis show in Branson and Quarter Horse racing. She would not hesitate to tell you that she did not enjoy building barb wire fence, chasing horses that got out, or missing a horse race.

Lucille sadly missed Don who passed in 2018 and is survived by 3 children: Brenda Sickler and husband Tim, St Cloud, MN, Dr. Wayne Webb and wife Shannon, Diamond, MO, and Vicki Wright and husband Preston, Diamond, MO; eleven grandchildren, Drew, Chase (Jolene), Josh (Jenna), Angie (Cody), Christopher, Brandon (Jolene), Jessica (Brandon), Lucy (Jordan), Brantley (Kaitlyn), Jamison (Payten), and Parker; 17 great-grandchildren; Aleyna, Taylor, Ashley, Britney, Boston, Ainsley, Hayden, Kayson, Gavin, Annabelle, Colton, Owen, Maja, Connor, Kylan, Kieren, and Cora; and two sisters, Rachel Jones and Delores Shelton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Carrie Pendergrass; and siblings, Clifford Pendergrass, Lee Pendergrass, Judy Wilson, Larry Pendergrass and Kathy Russell.

The family would like to thank Monica Lauderdale and Anga Lemaster who adopted Mom many years ago. It is heartwarming to have friends who create cherished memories and offer that extra support to make daily life easier and fun. We also appreciate the staff of Oak Point Assisted Living in Carthage for their excellent care.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 6-7:00 pm at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The family requests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers in memory of Lucille to be made to the Williams Syndrome Association in honor of great-grandson Gavin Webb in care of the mortuary.
