(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Sharron (Duncan) Lassiter, age 72, of Joplin, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on January 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharron was born on August 15, 1952, in Joplin, MO to her parents Johnnie and Norma (Dillon) Duncan. Sharron grew up in Carterville, MO and was a proud Carterville Comet. She married her beloved husband, Charles, on June 28, 1975, in Webb City, MO.
Sharron was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles; her parents, Johnnie Duncan and Norma Duncan; and one sister Kathleen “Sue” Westfall.
She is survived by her children, Kelly (Lassiter) Streck of Mexico, MO, Teresa (Lassiter) Whobrey of Salisbury, MO, Steven Lassiter of Columbia, MO, Heather Lassiter of Joplin, MO and Nathan Lassiter of Joplin, MO.
Sharron’s greatest desire in life was to bring glory to Jesus in all that she did. She was always quick to pray for those around her. Known for her gift of encouragement, she always listened to others and gave guidance. Because of her great love for others, she was quick to share her affection. She often communicated love by baking or sewing for others. Her love for her family was second only to her love of Jesus. She enjoyed caring for her family, whom she loved greatly. Family time was extremely important to her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Life Choices, Joplin, MO. Donations may be made c/o Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 am at Joplin Family Worship Center on Monday, January 20, 2025. Services to follow at 10:00 am at the same location.
Arrangements are under the care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
