Bo Bollinger

Kenneth Wayne (Bo) Bollinger, age 74, passed away suddenly at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was born April 20, 1951, in Aurora, Missouri, the son of Joe and Maxine (Rickman) Bollinger.

Bo graduated from Aurora High School in 1969. He obtained his associate’s degree in business from Columbia State Community College in 1995 and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and theater from Tennessee State University in 1997.







Bo worked as a plant manager for Tyson’s in Monett, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee for many years before working at Columbia State Community College. He was employed at Columbia State for 20 years as coordinator of theater and event services, retiring in 2021. There his love for music and theater brought him great joy for many years as he even starred in many of the productions. 

While at Columbia State, he also accumulated honors. He was recognized by his peers as Professional Staff of the Year in 2015. He also received the President’s Award of Honor for distinguished alumni. This is the highest honor bestowed upon alumni of Columbia State Community College and is given by the office of the President in conjunction with the Office of Advancement. It was presented for his meritorious service in furthering the interests of Columbia State and bringing honor to the college through his professional and community endeavors. 

Throughout his life he shared his passion for music, theater, sports, trivia, and love for life with his family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed terribly.

Bo is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Bone and her husband, Brandon of Columbia, Tennessee; one grandson, Caden Bone of Columbia, Tennessee; one sister, Marilyn Rodgers and her husband, Leon of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one brother, James Bollinger of Sarcoxie, Missouri; a special friend, E. Ann Ingram; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.

Bo was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joe and Maxine Bollinger of Aurora Missouri and his brother, Bill Bollinger of Jenkins, Missouri.








A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Aurora Baptist Temple in Aurora, Missouri. Burial will be at a later date at the Osa Cemetery, Aurora, Missouri.

The family requests that you dress in your favorite Bo attire such as St. Louis Cardinals, Vanderbilt Commodores, or tie-dye to honor him.
