David Chance

David Robert Chance, age 75, of Joplin MO passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025 at Freeman West Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Born on February 6, 1950 in Springfield MO, David was a loving father, grandfather, friend and follower of Jesus. David lived a life grounded in kindness and quiet strength. He spent over three decades working at Kennell Motors in Carthage MO, where he was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. 

David also worked for many years at Innovative Industries in Carthage MO, where he met many friends and colleagues he considered family. An avid sports fan, you could usually find David watching a variety of sports, but particularly his favorite sport of football.

Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his children, son Devin Chance and wife Kelly of Carthage MO, and daughter Dara Eidson and husband Jerrod of Joplin MO; his grandchildren, Sydney Steffen and Avery Steffen, and family members Kel Kennell and Rayce Kennell of Carthage MO. He will be remembered for his warm smile, gift of gab, and the steady love he gave to those around him.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Communities at Wildwood for their exceptional care and friendship in the last year of David’s life.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 6:00 PM at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage MO. All who knew and loved David are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Life of Hope Ministries, a cause that was near and dear to David’s heart.
