(From Knell Mortuary)Jerry Lewis Gideon, age 70, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on January 17, 2026. He was born on December 20, 1955, in Commerce, Oklahoma, to Andrew Gideon and Margie Gideon (England).
Jerry was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Rhonda DeBurger, on April 1, 1976, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they shared a lifetime of love until her passing. He was a devoted father to two children, Mark Jones and Tuesdi Raines (Gideon).
Jerry dedicated his career to working as a skilled diesel mechanic. He spent 25 years with Cummins Mid-America before opening his own business, D & J Diesel, where he proudly continued his work. His strong work ethic and mechanical skill were well known and respected.
Jerry truly loved retirement life and embraced every day it offered. He cherished time spent outdoors and with those he loved, enjoying fishing, hunting, and being surrounded by family and friends. He could often be found at the lake fishing with close friends, hunting with his grandsons, painting beautiful nature scenes, or relaxing at his favorite place to hang out, 66. Jerry was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone, and he was deeply loved by the many people who knew him. He cared deeply about those he loved, and his generosity and kindness left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Gideon; his son, Mark Jones; his parents, Andrew and Margie Gideon; his sister, Barbara Jenkins; his brother, Robert Gideon; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Dollison, Richie Hart, Roger DeBurger, and Randy DeBurger.

He is survived by his daughter, Tuesdi Raines and her husband, Jerry; his grandchildren, Skylar Noren and wife Kylie, Cole Noren, Andrew Noren and wife Aaliyah, Cameron Noren, Ethan Raines, and Emma Raines; his great-grandchildren, Natalie Noren and Nathaniel Noren; his brothers, Gary Gideon and wife Hope, Claud Gideon and wife Cindy, Harold Gideon and partner Terry, and Don Gideon and wife Vicki; his sisters, Patty Duckworth and husband Rick, Sandy Kohler, Susie Shoemaker and husband Leon, and Alice Hollon and husband Rob; his brother-in-law, Ray Jenkins; his sister-in-law, Marcia Gideon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Those who knew Jerry find comfort in imagining him now reunited with his beloved wife, Rhonda, casting a line and fishing in the sky, finally at peace.
Services are under the direction of Knell Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Knell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Bible Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri, with Pastor Chad Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Curtis Cemetery.
