(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Carson Lee Barley, 16, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Carson was born on August 18, 2009, to Brad and Rachel (Chidester) Barley in Joplin, Missouri. Carson was a student at Carthage High School and a member of the Class of 2028. He attended Fairview Christian Church and Open Door Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri.
Carson had a kind heart. He loved animals and often tried to make babies smile. He took an interest in cooking and baking and loved sharing his creations with those around him. He was an avid video gamer and a fan of anime. Carson had a passion for music, especially hip-hop and rock, and his favorite band was the Gorillaz. He really enjoyed fishing for bass and crappie. Carson had been a part of the Carthage Archery program for the past five years and competed in two state tournaments.
Carson is survived by his parents, Brad and Rachel Barley; his sister Adelynn Barley; his grandparents, Cindy Chidester and Dennis and Cheryl Barley; along with many close family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Joe Chidester.
A funeral service for Carson will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Carson will be laid to rest at Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Children’s Haven in Joplin, Missouri, in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
