(From Lakin Funeral Home)Thomas "Tom" Eugene Cahalan, age 66, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, with family by his side in Pierce City, MO. He was born in Monett, MO on Friday, September 11, 1959; son of Vincent and Patricia (Noose) Cahalan.
Tom was a 1977 graduate of Pierce City High School where he played football. He married Melissa Inman on Friday, July 14, 1978, in Mt. Vernon, MO. Tom worked at Wells Aluminum as a maintenance worker for over 20 years and also worked construction with Ralph Abramovitz and his brother, Mike, remodeling and building homes. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, drinking beer in the shop, and watching Westerns.
Tom was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He always looked forward to Poker nights with his friends. He harvested grapes and continued the family tradition of making wine. Tom cherished time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by many!
Surviving are the following, his wife, Melissa of the home; son, Tommy (Jessica) Cahalan of Pierce City, MO; two daughters, Elisha (Danny) Miller of Pierce City, MO and Jessica (Chris) Williams of Pierce City, MO; eight grandchildren, Lane, Zane, Ayden, Sydney, Wittley, Reece, Otto, and Lennix; his mother, Patricia Cahalan of Pierce City, MO; three brothers, Mike (Nancy) Cahalan of Pierce City, MO, David Cahalan of Pierce City, MO, and Bob Cahalan of Neosho, MO; two sisters, Sharon (Clem) Heidlage of Pawhuska, OK and Tena Hornback of Pierce City, MO; brother-in-law, Larry Gollhofer of Joplin, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those welcoming Tom to heaven includes his dad, Vincent Cahalan and a sister, Carol Gollhofer.
Rosary service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.
Memorial Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, January 22, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM with Father Sanoop Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
