Raymond Freelend

Raymond Freelend, 71, passed away June 14, 2026, on the farm he loved, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, sacrifice, and love.

He was the devoted husband of Cindy Freelend and a proud father to Denise, Crystal (Jordan), and Nathan (Nikki). He was also a cherished grandpa to Eli, Avvi, Emery, Camden, Mia, and Teddy, who brought him immense joy. Raymond was a beloved brother to Judith, Vivian, Allen, Vernon and Paul, an uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a friend to countless others.

A lifelong farmer, Raymond understood the value of hard work better than most. In his younger years, he worked at the sale barn while also farming, doing whatever it took to provide for his family. Long hours and hard labor never deterred him because his motivation was never personal success. Everything he did was rooted in his deep love for those closest to him. Every sacrifice, every early morning, and every late night was made so his family could have opportunities, security, and a brighter future.

That same spirit of service extended beyond his home and fields into the wider community. Raymond served as a substitute teacher and helped coach basketball, volleyball and track. He had a special gift for connecting with young people, and he genuinely cared for every child whose life he touched. Whether in a classroom, on a field, or in a gym, he encouraged others, built confidence, and made people feel valued.

Because of the way he lived, Raymond's impact reached far beyond the roles he held. To those who knew him, he seemed larger than life—strong, dependable, and generous. He was the person people counted on. To his family, he was a hero and a lasting example of what it means to live a life of purpose.

At the center of that purpose was his faith. Above all, Raymond loved Jesus Christ. His faith was not simply something he believed—it was something he lived each day. His kindness, humility, servant's heart, and unwavering love reflected the Savior he faithfully followed throughout his life.

Even with all he accomplished and the many lives he influenced, some of the most treasured memories are the simplest ones. His family will always smile remembering that he was surprisingly good at Mario Kart, creating moments of laughter and togetherness that will be cherished forever.

His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the community he served, and the faith that guided every step of his journey.
