Jeremy Lee Choens, age 34, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his home in Carthage, Missouri. Jeremy was born January 23, 1985 in El Dorado, Kansas to Hank Choens and Janelle (Corkin) Choens. He graduated from Carthage High School in 2003 and the University of Arkansas in 2008 with a BS in computer engineering.
Jeremy had the biggest and kindest heart one could ever hope to meet. He had many passions as well. He loved learning new things, he was an avid reader, a gaming enthusiast, an adventurous eater of all Asian cuisines, and a helping hand and gentle protector of those he loved.
Survivors include his parents, Hank and Janelle; one sister, Jessica (Choens) VanVactor and husband Cody; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Joan Corkin of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; and paternal grandparents, Jiggs and Joy Choens of El Dorado, Kansas.
A memorial will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Christ’s Church of Joplin. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
