Carroll Bass

Carroll Edward Bass, age 76, Carthage, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital.

Carroll was born September 5, 1943 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the late J.R. Bass and Opal Dubry Bass and had lived in the Carthage area all of his life.
Carroll enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved all animals, especially cats, dogs and cows. He enjoyed travelling to new places and meeting people of all kinds of backgrounds. Carroll enjoyed his morning McDonald's Coffee group, where they talked about different topics on a daily basis. He was a huge fan of WWE and could tell you anything you wanted to know about cars and trucks. Carroll was a sweet soul that will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by two nephews, Greg Simmer and Kurt Simmer; and brothers-in-law, Bill Simmer and Louis Denny.








Survivors include two sisters, Hellen Denny, Carthage, Velma Simmer, Perry, Iowa; a nephew, Scott Simmer, Kansas City; and several other extended family members.

Graveside services are planned for Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Rev. Alan McCamey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Simmer, Gary Replogle, Hidy Replogle, Stanley Ritchie, Shawn Pybas and Thomas Todd.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
