Denny L. Jones, 83, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Denny was born August 1, 1936 in Carthage to Earl W. and Marjorie D. “Carnes” Jones. Denny was a lifetime resident of Carthage and a truck driver for ConAgra, Butterball and Hatfields Trucking for a combined 32 years.
Denny was united in marriage to Martha “Smith” on June 19, 1954 in Carthage; she preceded him in death September 1, 2017.
Denny is survived by one son, Larry Jones of Wyandotte, OK; three daughters, Kristi Thrasher (Doug), Valorie Moser and Donna McNamara, all of Carthage; one sister, Sharon Myers of Jasper; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Denny was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Smith, on October 16, 2011 and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Fasken Cemetery, northeast of Carthage.
