James Rhea

James Edgar Rhea age 88 of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Webb City Health & Rehab. He was born on July 28, 1931 in Russell, Kansas to Charles Rhea and Agnus (Headquist) Rhea.

He was a high school graduate and completed one year of college at Kansas Western College. James was a United States Navy Veteran having served his military years in Corpus Christi, Texas. He owned R&R Excavating. James lived in Russell, Kansas, Salina, Kansas, Springfield, Missouri, Joplin, Missouri, and Carl Junction, Missouri over the years. 

He was married to Bonnie Rhea and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Hoey. 









James is survived by his sons, James Hoaglin and wife Kimmie of Joplin, Robert Hoaglin and life partner Arnetta of Springfield, Nick Rhea and wife Kimberly of Joplin; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren. 

The family will have a graveside memorial service on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Pavillion in Carl Junction Cemetery with Max Raney officiating. After the memorial service a celebration of his life will be held at Bailey's Eats and Sweets in Carl Junction. 

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial donations to go to the American Legion in Carl Junction in his memory. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
