Ronald Southard

(From Parker Mortuary)

Ronald Oren Southard was born on the 24th of March, 1956 to Robbie and Wayne Southard in Joliet, Illinois . He left this world in the early morning of the 27th of February, 2021 due to a sudden and unexpected massive heart attack at his residence near Diamond, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Bette, his son Jason, and his two brothers Scott and Richard and their families.

He dedicated almost all of his energy towards helping those in need, few more so than his parents prior to their passing. Either providing transportation to and from doctors appointments, performing upkeep and maintenance tasks they were no longer capable of themselves, or just being a strong support upon which they could rest or a shoulder to cry their sorrows into.

Ron was a dedicated son and an ardent family man, always looking out for ways to make life easier on those whom he loved. This was complemented well by his talent and knack for all things mechanical and electrical, where he was always willing to share his gifts with whomever needed it. He was never one to shy away from a challenge, and would always come up with an effective solution to whatever dilemma he was faced with.

Ron had a love for Jehovah, for what was right and just, and was slowly working toward baptism, with the goal of being baptized at the same time as his wife. They fervently attended the East Joplin Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, rarely missing a meeting.

He had a massive impact on the lives of many people; and while he may be gone, he shall never be forgotten.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m. via the East Joplin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses zoom link. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
