(From Clark Funeral Home)

Charles Michael McClintock was born in Neosho, MO on the first day of May 1949, to Tom and Mary McClintock. He left this earthly plane on December 10, 2021 at Freeman Hospital, Neosho, MO.

Chuck graduated from Neosho High School in 1967, Missouri Southern State University in 1974 and then entered his father’s business, McClintock’s IGA.

As he was learning the grocery business he was also becoming interested in Democrat politics. While at Missouri Southern, he was President of the MSSU Young Democrats (1972-1974). In 1975, he went to campaign management school at Kent State University. He was Newton County Chairman from 1978-1980 and was listed in Outstanding Young Men of America in 1979.

During Chuck’s tenure at the IGA store, he purchased it, later remodeled, and led a strong team of employees. In 1987, he was named Missouri Grocer of the year by the Missouri Grocery Association and, Chuck continued to grow the store and prosper until he sold it in 1993.

A new life path was soon to emerge for Chuck. In 1995, he enrolled in the White River School of Massage in Fayetteville, AR and, became a licensed massage therapist and Polarity practitioner. He later studied Reiki and was certified as a Tai Chi instructor. In 1995 he opened his clinic, Healthcrafts Wellness Center. During this period, he also got deeply involved with nature and began working on studies in Ecopsychology through Portland State University. Dr. Michael C. Cohen was his mentor through the master’s degree work. Chuck published several articles in Ecopsychology journals about their work together and, he attended several sessions of study on San Juan Island. He retired from Healthcrafts Wellness Center in 2018.

Chuck was an avid student of astronomy, astrology, mineralogy, Native American artifacts, and a passionate fan of NHRA drag racing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marada, two children and their spouses: his daughter of Springdale, AR, Dr. Mya Norman, her husband Jason and their son August; his son of Kansas City, MO, Michael McClintock and his wife Dálida T. Pupo Barrios. He is also survived by 3 siblings: his brothers Patrick McClintock of Washington D.C., Mark McClintock of Neosho, and sister Mary E. Heim of Nebraska. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the kind and loving staff at Freeman Neosho Hospital for such excellent care.
