(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Daniel F. Smith, 78, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Joplin, Missouri. Daniel was born July 26, 1943 in Austin, Minnesota to Roy A. Smith and Maybell Foster.
Daniel was a resident of Carthage, Missouri for the last three years and worked for Cargile Foods, Inc. for eighteen years. He was the horseshoe throwing champion for the Grange. Daniel loved watching wrestling, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed all types of card games.
Daniel is survived by two brothers, LeRoy Smith (Jean) of Carthage, Missouri and Allen D. Smith of Austin, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by all who knew him and never had a malice word towards anyone.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Roy A. and Maybell Smith; and one sister, Doris A. Frandel.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2022, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
