Terry Harris

Terry L. Harris, 62, of Girard, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022. He had been battling cancer for quite some time.

Terry was born April 29, 1959 in Fort Hood, Texas to Bob and Joyce (Snow) Harris of Girard. He grew up in Arcadia for several years. Then they moved to Girard when he was 4 years old. He attended school in Girard.

When he was 16 he joined Toby’s Carnival and worked with them for 2 years. He also rode with the Fine upstanding Citizens of Kansas Motorcycle group. He loved to ride his bike. The group nicknamed him Pigslayer because he loved to BBQ.







At the age of 18 he joined the Army. He was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Ord, California, and Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Once discharged from the Army, he began his lifelong career as a truck driver. He truly loved being on the open road.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Harris of Girard, and his wife, Lori.

He is survived by his father Bobby C. Harris, Sr. of Girard, brothers Bobby C. Harris, Jr. of Girard and Paul J. Harris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also his son, girlfriend, and daughter Chad L. Harris, Rachell Lowman-Trout and Olivia Harris of Mindenmines, Missouri. Plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to Chad and Rachell for taking him into their home for his last few days of life. R.I.P. Terry you were loved and you will be missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Terry on March 4th, 2022 at 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Raymond Community Home at 301 South Osage Street in Girard, Kansas.
