Earl Paul

(From Lawson's Funeral Home)

Earl William Paul, age 60, went to his heavenly home on Friday, March 29, 2024 in Grove, OK. He was born on October 6, 1963 in Rochelle, Illinois to Joyce Marlene Sanford-Paul.

Earl was a laborer all his adult life and supported his family through years of hard work. His passion was his family and taking care of them. His great love in his life was making music. He loved playing the drums and picking on the bass guitar like his mother. He took great joy when he would join this mother Joyce and his other musician friends at Jam sessions around the area.

Earl had earned his G.E.D and knew the importance of education. He was one of the biggest supporters of his son, Elija who is a student at NSU in Tahlequah. He would do everything in his power to make sure he would finish and get his degree.

He had a fierce love for his sister and brother and their children. He loved being called “Papa Earl” by Auni and Robert’s children. They were a great joy in his life. Motivated in later years by his “son” Jerrod, who has cerebral palsy, he applied for and was hired at the Friendship Home of Delaware County. He became attached to the clients and enjoyed his time working there very much. He worked as a manager at one time at McDonald’s in Jay. He had gone to culinary school in his younger years and enjoyed cooking and was very good at creating delicious meals for everyone. His family will miss that so much.

Earl is preceded in death by his grandparents Calvin and Johannah Paul of Illinois; mother Joyce Paul-Sanford and husband Ted Sanford of Joplin, MO.

He is survived by his Wife Judy Harrison of the home and “son” Jerrod Teehee, son Elija Paul, Daughter Auni Jackson and husband Robert and grandson Zaed; Also special grandchildren Maci and Brazy, who were dear to his heart, all of Grove, OK; his sister Toni Paul and daughter Nicole Slaughter and her children Henley and Roman Slaughter all of Joplin, MO.; Brother Ted Sanford all of Seneca, MO; Children Johannah Paul and children, Tiffany Paul and children, Earl Paul, Jr., and Curtis Paul and children; extended family and friends.

No services are planned at this time, but a “get together” for the family and friends will be held at a late date.
