(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Melissa Jean Olds, age 43 of Joplin, passed away at 5:25 PM on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital following an illness.
Melissa was born in Parsons, KS on July 29, 1978. Her parents were Bill and Gail Masterson. She had spent time living in Osage Beach, MO, and had spent the last 8 years in Joplin.
She was united in marriage with James Olds on October 31, 2013 in Galena, KS. He survives.
Additional survivors include her father, Bill Masterson of Osage Beach, MO; her mother, Gail Masterson of Joplin; her brother, David Masterson (and sister in law Christie Masterson) of Phoenix, AZ; and one nephew, Jerad Masterson of Pittsburg, KS.
