Paul Everette Hignite, 85 years, of Noel, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born on July 2, 1930 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to the union of Alex and Iva (Patterson) Hignite. He married Helen Marie Shafer on July 25, 1949 in Scott City, Kansas and to this union five children were born. Paul worked as an oil driller in the Oil fields in Kansas. He was a member of the Army National Guard; Masons and the Moose Lodge. Paul enjoyed gardening, golf, flying aircraft, camping, fishing, reading, boating, building bird houses and bird watching.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Iva Hignite and his wife, Helen Marie Hignite.
Paul is survived by his five children, Gene Hignite and wife, Mollie of Pineville, Missouri, Marilyn Cochran of Noel, Missouri, Frank Hignite and wife, Sid of Rogers, Arkansas, Steve Hignite and wife, Rhonda of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Roger Hignite of Bentonville, Arkansas 11 siblings, J.T. Hignite of Colcord, Oklahoma, Noel Hignite and wife, Joy of Colcord, Oklahoma, Jackie Hignite and wife, Lee of Cleveland, Ohio, Kenneth Hignite and wife, Karen of Annadarko, Oklahoma, Arvelle Hignite and wife, Anita of Duncan, Oklahoma, Danny Hignite and wife, Robin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Lois Straight and husband, Bobby of Greensboro, North Carolina, Mary Strickland and husband, Ray of Colcord, Oklahoma, Kathy Lance of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Pearl Rogers and husband, Butch of West Fork, Arkansas; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Paul.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors for Mr. Hignite will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette, Arkansas. Pastor Marilyn O'Brien will officiate. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Noel Hignite, Kenneth Hignite, Billy Hignite, Danny Hignite, Arvelle Hignite, Mike Hignite, Rob Harrison and Justin Hignite. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Hignite and Ron Miller. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark funeral homes. The family will receive friends at this time.
