(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Richard L. Hefling, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 82.
He was born on November 9, 1941 in Manhattan, KS to Loren Bryce and Mary Frances (Kientz) Hefling. Richard served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Nyla Mae Dodd on February 23, 1964.
Richard worked many years as a Heating and Air Technician. He and Nyla owned and operated a hardware store for over 15 years in Overgaard, AZ. Richard was a member of the Lockwood United Methodist Church, and the Lockwood American Legion Post #372. He was an avid Fly Fisherman, and enjoyed driving his hotrod.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bryce and Mary Hefling; and one brother, Donald Hefling.

Survivors include his wife, Nyla Hefling; four daughters, Renee, Danelle, Shelly, and Kimberly; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will conduct and direct a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Lockwood United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lockwood United Methodist Church or to the husky.rescueme.org. Cremation services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
