Christina Welch

Christina Fern Welch, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation.

Christina was born on September 7, 1936, in Kansas, to the union of Alonzo and Sarah (Evans) Bendure. She spent her childhood in the Asbury/Waco area before moving to Carl Junction. 

She married the love of her life, Roy Welch, in Asbury on June 6, 1958. Together they shared 63 beloved years before her passing. 

She worked at Ace Bearing and Fabrication in Joplin as a lathe operator for several years before retiring. In her free time, she loved sewing, enjoyed crafting, and making amazing lamps. She was a part of an RV camper club, and they took many trips all across the country, stopping along the way to sit by the fire and fellowship.

Christina was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Sarah Bendure, and her siblings, Bert and Virgil Bendure, Ruth Coffey, and Eva Herr.

Christina is survived by her husband, Roy Welch; son, David L. Welch; two grandchildren, David F. Welch (Jennifer) and Benjamin Welch; four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Lilly, and Isaac.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Alan McCamey officiating.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
