Connie Anderson

Connie Lee Anderson, age 78, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at her home after a sudden illness.

Connie was born November 18, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of the late Harrison Koon and Ethel Marie (Smith) Koon. She grew up in Kansas, then Seneca, and finally in Joplin. 

She has always been a dedicated worker, working for her family since she was a child. She worked from 1957 until 1981 at Fred and Red’s Chili on Main Street in Joplin before opening her own business located on the Missouri/Kansas state line, Paddoc Liquor, which she ran until retirement in 2016. 








 She was very dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She was very independent and provided for many during her life. She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Norman L. Anderson who passed in 2001. She was also preceded in death by sister Judy, and brothers, Joe, Arnold, and George Koon.

Survivors include her children, Lorn Anderson of Joplin, Teresa Burkybile and husband Phil of Seneca, Missouri; grandchildren, Zachary Anderson, Dominique Anderson, Tiffany Bryant and husband Kenneth all of Joplin, and Tara McQuillen of Galena, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Violet, Jasper, and Trinity Anderson, Genesis Massey, Elijah Presley, Amira Bryant, RaeLynn Bryant, Kyleigh King, and Keegan Wittenmyer; sister, Bonnie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Per Connie’s request, there will be no formal services.
