Frances Cooper

Frances Carol (Kinkade) Cooper, age 87 of Galena, passed away at 2:35 PM on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Frances was born on February 13, 1934 to the union of Albert Lincoln Kinkade and Bessie Jane (Morrison) Kinkade. She graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1952 and had been a lifetime resident of Galena. 

She worked in the Quality Control Department of Safeway Bakery before retiring in 1996. 








Her passions included cooking and being the “#1 Babysitter” for Dancy Blizzard, Gage Girton, and of course her grandchildren. She was a member of the Baxter Springs Apostolic Faith Church. She always had a smile, and was a special lady that will be sadly missed by many. Her children admired her very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as six sisters and three brothers. Survivors include one son, Brian Carter of Galena; two daughters, Michelle Price (husband, Bob) of Joplin, and Valerie Shallenburger (Carl Capps) of Galena; one sister, Dorothy Walton of Riverton; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. The funeral service will be held immediately following, beginning at 1:00 pm, with Cody Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena.
The family appreciates the wonderful care and compassion that she received at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
