(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Glenis Jean Williams, age 83, of Sarcoxie, MO, passed away on Sunday evening, January 8, 2023 while at Lacoba Homes in Monett, MO.
Glenis was born on June 17, 1939 in Pittsburg, KS, daughter of the late Ralph Adolph Vilmer and Mayodene Fidelia (Genemann) Vilmer. She graduated from Pittsburg High School with the class of 1957.
For several years, Glenis worked as City Clerk in Sarcoxie. She was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Eastern Star and was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Chiefs, Cardinals and Royals as well as she loved to read, work crossword puzzles and take care of her garden.
Glenis is survived by two sons, Brian Ross and wife Jennifer, of Monett and Darren Ross and wife Theresa, of Sarcoxie; one daughter, Melisa Martin and husband Kevin, of Duenweg, MO; one sister, Arlene Henderson, of Hammond, LA; four grandchildren, Tristan Williams, Mason Ross and wife Shellby, Jared Ross and wife Maisie, and Ashli Rustin; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Glenis was preceded by her husbands, Thomas T. Ross and Joseph E. Williams; one great-granddaughter, Lily Rustin; one brother, William Vilmer; and one sister, Fidelia Messenger.
Glenis’ wishes were to be cremated and the family plans to have a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
