Kathryn Fast

Kathryn LoVone Fast, age 85, of Joplin, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023, from a fall.

Kathryn was born on August 12, 1937 in Springfield, Missouri to the late Raymond and Edith Anderson. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Lewis Fast and grandson, Matthew Ryan Fast. 

Kathryn is survived by her son Gregory Ray Fast and wife Donna of Glenpool, Oklahoma; son Timothy Lewis Fast and wife Sheryl of Frederick, Maryland; grandson Adam Gregory Fast and wife Rebecca of Lawrence, Kansas; grandson Randy Lewis Fast of Frederick, Maryland; and three great grandsons, Matthew Ryan Fast II of Sykesville, Maryland; James Adam Fast and Josiah Dakota Fast of Lawrence, Kansas; and her longtime companion Charles Hill of Carl Junction, Missouri.

Kathryn enjoyed being the wife of an Air Force veteran and living the military life. She worked as an apartment manager for many years in Maryland, and ultimately retired from The Park Apartments in Joplin, Missouri. She loved traveling with Charles Hill and spending time with her family and Charles. Her memory lives on with all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary with Pastor Charles Stillman officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends on Friday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Freeman Hospital Auxiliary in her name are appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
