David Jameson

David Warren Jameson, age 75, of Monett, Missouri, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 28, 2026.

David was born on October 15, 1950, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, the son of the late Virgil E. and Maretta N. (Reinke) Jameson. He graduated from Wichita East High School in 1968 and went on to dedicate 20 years of his life to the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. 

During his distinguished military career, David served as a Missile Maintenance Technician and Nuclear Weapons Superintendent. His service took him and his family to many places, including Banbury and Oxford, England, where his two sons were born, as well as Georgia, Quebec, Colorado and North Dakota.

Following his military service, David continued his education and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1989. He went on to work as a Software Engineer for Cargill in Minneapolis, MN, Nashville, TN and Wichita, KS. In 2001 he began working as a Software Engineer for EFCO in Monett, Missouri where he retired in 2019.

On August 31, 1969, David married his high School sweetheart, Cathy. Their marriage was a testament to a lifetime of love, friendship, and devotion, and they were blessed with 57 years together. David treasured his time with Cathy, and together they enjoyed traveling, including several international cruises and many adventures along the way.

David was a man of many interests and passions. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast and owned three different Corvettes throughout his life, with his red C8 Corvette being his final one. He especially enjoyed racing and performance driving. He attended track training at the Ron Fellows Race Course and participated several times in the Spring Mountain Performance Course and Performance Driving School near Las Vegas, NV. He enjoyed the thrill of performance driving, including reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour on the track and he was also an enthusiastic Formula 1 fan.

David also enjoyed hunting and shooting sports. In quieter moments, he enjoyed creating stained glass pieces, many of which he gave to friends and family to be treasured today. He loved classic movies and reading and was known for his wide-ranging knowledge and curiosity about the world. He could always contribute something interesting to a conversation-and you certainly wouldn’t want to go up against him in a game of trivia!

David was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monett. His faith was an important part of his life, and he recently had the opportunity to lead a Bible study at the church, an experience he greatly enjoyed. He found meaning in sharing his faith and spending time in fellowship with others.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy; his two sons, David and wife Gina of Waukee, IA and Christopher and wife Beth of St. Charles, MO; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah Downs and husband Tanner, Jett and wife Emma, John and Jace. He is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Blunt and husband Daniel of Boalsburg, PA; his niece, Bonnie Siefkes and husband Craig and their daughter Kaylin Mulkey all of Ocala, FL and Jaymeson Blunt and wife Lauren of Boalsburg, PA.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful servant, proud veteran and lifelong learner who embraced both adventure and the simple joys of being with those he loved. His family will forever cherish his memory. David leaves behind a legacy of love, service, faith, family and adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church, Monett, MO. Interment will be in the Edna Cemetery, Edna, KS at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Monett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.

Carolyn Reardon

Carolyn Sue “Edens” Reardon, gracefully returned to her heavenly home on August 29, 2026.

She was born on October 20, 1941, to Omer “Tobe” Edens and Lois Edens, maiden name Standefer.

Carolyn began her life as a beautician before meeting her husband, Victor “Vic” Reardon. She was the heart of her home—warm, gentle, and devoted to the people she loved.

Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Bass of Diamond, Missouri; grandsons Joshua Bass and his fiancée, Shiloh, and Zackary Bass and his wife, Katie; and her great-grandchildren, Trenton Bass and Makenzie Bass; Weston Metcalf and Harley Bass. She is also survived by Linda and Steve Milburn of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nancy Spiva of Webb City, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Ann Barclay.

Carolyn will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to those around her. She loved traveling in her fifth wheel, exploring and enjoying the beauty of places across the United States. She cherished spending time with those she loved, enjoyed baking, and was an avid reader. She also had a special love for roses, whose beauty and grace seem fitting for a woman remembered with such tenderness.

Carolyn leaves behind the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with the people who meant the most to her.

A celebration of her beautiful and radiant life will be held on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Diamond Cemetery.

Susie Thornton

Beneath the unassuming exterior of the little, white haired lady, lied a fiercely competitive Scrabble player, a voracious reader and life-long proponent of learning, a prolific card and note writer, a serial hugger as well as a skilled cook and baker, but most importantly lied the humble heart of a faithful servant to her many friends, her loving family and her gracious Lord.

Bette Jean (Susie) Thornton, 84, of Noel, Missouri, flew away to be with her Father on August 24. She passed away at her home surrounded by caring family and guarded by her cherished dog Brewster.

A sawmiller’s daughter, Susie, was born January 12, 1942, on the west side of Jay, Oklahoma, in a small clapboard house to Everett and Bette Jo Hodges. Susie was drawn to the Lord at a very young age and asked to be taken to church regularly as a small child. Her calling to the Lord would form the spiritual foundation and nurture the love for Christ that would define her life.

In 1958, Susie would meet the second love of her life, Clifford Thornton, when she and three friends ran into the street to stop the new sophomore at high school who was cruising by on his Cushman Eagle scooter.

The couple would go on to marry August 25, 1962, and share 64 wonderful years together.

Following high school graduation, Susie attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and became an elementary school teacher, a profession she loved that fit her natural gifts of compassion and ability to connect with young people.

After a move to New Mexico, Susie would continue teaching while supporting Cliff as he returned to school to study pharmacy. Following Cliff’s graduation and the start of his work in pharmacy, Susie would transition from teaching into a second career as homemaker, and most importantly, Mom.

Susie was a fervent believer that no one could raise her children better than her, and she excelled in raising the couple’s three children. Later, Susie would become an equally devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

As Mom and grandmother, Susie had a knack for making special occasions memorable and, when possible, weaving in teachable moments with the activities. A favorite holiday tradition involved teaching her children, and later grandchildren, how to bake and decorate Christmas cookies. Each Christmas, Susie would also roundup all the grandchildren and take them to purchase Angel tree gifts for other children to help instill the value of giving.

Whether quick with a smile and hug or encouraging her grandchildren to participate in cooking holiday meals by teaching them how to roll out and bake biscuits, Susie always found ways to make her children and grandchildren feel included, valued and loved.

In 1978, following years of Cliff working in retail pharmacy, Susie supported her husband in purchasing a small, independent pharmacy in Noel, Missouri, a business she and Cliff would successfully operate for 30 years until Cliff’s retirement in 2008.

Beyond her roles as supportive spouse, homemaker and mother, Susie faithfully followed Christ and served as a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, where she would wear many hats. From teaching Sunday school classes and leading numerous Bible studies to serving as lay leader, Susie enthusiastically embraced serving the church.

Throughout her life, Susie would create multiple ministries in the church including the development of monthly community dinners, the creation of a Fifth-Sunday service designed to encourage lay participants to grow in their faith journey, and a hats and gloves community outreach to help serve those needing warm clothes during winter months.

However, one of the most rewarding roles Susie filled in the church occurred during Vacation Bible School each summer. For many years, Susie enthusiastically led the Bible story portion of VBS, which allowed her to incorporate the talents of many church members in helping to teach Biblical principles to VBS children.

In a similar vein, each Sunday, she would faithfully bring small snacks for her grandkids and hand them change to put in the children’s offering – a small but significant weekly reminder for the children on the importance of gratitude and giving back.

A mindset of learning, service, gratitude and Christian witness are all values evident in Susie’s rich life. In 1986 at the age of 44, Susie went back to college to pursue a nursing degree, in part a reflection of the importance she placed on education, but also as a way to help care for her ailing father who was battling cancer during that period.

Regardless of the roles she fulfilled or hats she wore, Susie lived a life that consistently reflected devotion to Christ through service to others, and she did so with an infectious smile, a warm and affectionate hug for any and all, and in a manner that made everyone feel valued and loved.

She will be dearly missed by the many who were blessed to have known her or received one of the thousands of personalized notes or letters of encouragement she wrote over the course of her life.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Cliff, and beloved Brewster; three children, Suzanne Elizabeth (Tim), Michael David (Angie) and Matthew Lee, all of the Noel area; seven grandchildren: Reid, Caleb, Wade, Kelsey, Hanna, Emily and Zoe; three great grandchildren: Cameron, Fletcher and Josiah; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Bette Jo Hodges, and two siblings, older brother Jim Hodges of Austin, Texas and twin brother Sonny Hodges of Pryor, Oklahoma.

The family will welcome friends and visitors Thursday, August 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Noel United Methodist Church. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 28, at 2:00 PM at the Noel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Noel Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Reid Schmit, Wade Schmit, Hanna Prall, Caleb Thornton, Kelsey Dill, Emily Moore and Zoe Thornton. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Noel Cemetery Fund c/o Ozark Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.

Ronald McCoy

Ronald Eugene McCoy, age 56, of Branson West, Missouri, was called to rest on August 27, 2026. He was born on September 6, 1969, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Bob and Shirley McCoy.

Ronald was a graduate of Aurora High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his service, he moved to Arizona, where he worked at the Grand Canyon—a place where he cherished having spectacular views both day and night.

He eventually returned to Missouri to be closer to his loved ones. Ronald led a simple, quiet life centered around the things he loved most: listening to music, watching movies, caring for his parents, and spoiling his beloved animals. Above all else, family meant the world to him, and he was a deeply loving son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley McCoy, and his niece, Savannah Hill.

Ronald is survived by his father, Bob McCoy; his sister, Michelle Nethery; his nieces, Leikland Burns and Emily Nethery; as well as four great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Though Ronald is no longer by our side, his quiet presence and gentle soul will never leave our hearts. He leaves behind a lifetime of warmth, laughter, and love that time can never erase. He will be missed more than words can say, but his memory will be cherished always.

Larry Ogden

Larry Lee Ogden, age 77, of Joplin Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with his family by his side after a long illness.

Larry was born on January 14, 1949, in Buffalo, Kansas. the son of Mary Cooper (Moss) and Charles Ogden. Larry worked at 4th Street Bowl for many years before retiring. He later worked part-time at Riverbend Casino Bowling Alley.

Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Ogden, and his beloved fur baby, Coco. Larry is survived by his two sons, Allen Ogden and Jayme Ogden; two daughters, Stacy Ogden and Tina Ogden; stepson, Waylon Schultz; stepdaughters, Stacy DeMasters, Lisa Baker, Lori Delancy; two sisters, Xander k Lopez and Candy Cornish; one brother, Aaron Ogden; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Cooper and Charles Ogden; and three brothers, Charles Ogden jr., Wayne Ogden, and M. Lynn Ogden; one sister, Carolyn Ogden.

A celebration of Larry’s life is scheduled for Tuesday September 22, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at SMB Bank Community Room 4000 E 7th Street (7th and Duquesne) Joplin, Missouri. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Harry Charles

Harry L. Charles, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park, KS at the age of 90.

He was born on September 28, 1935 in Sweet Springs, MO to Cecil and Minnie (Langwisch) Charles. Harry was the second of eleven children.

He graduated from Houstonia High School in 1953. Shortly after he entered the Air Force. This gave him the opportunity to travel to many different countries while in the military.

In 1956, Harry married Dorothy Soyland. To this union three children were born; Tom, Theresa, and JoEllen.

After his tour of duty, Harry had several different jobs. While employed by the Bectel Oil Company, he worked from start to finish on the Alaskan Pipeline. He retired in 1997 from O’Sullivan Industries.

Harry was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He received his 50 year pin in 2025.

From an early age, Harry developed a love for country music. He was a member of several bands serving as the lead singer. Harry loved to play guitar at home and sing with his family every chance he had.

On November 27, 1987, Harry married Betty (Chism) Divine in Lamar, MO.

Harry was a member of the Stockton Church of Christ. He was baptized on June 4, 1992.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Cecil and Minnie Charles; brothers, Harold Charles, Frank (Barbara) Charles, Clarence (Sharon) Charles, and John Charles; sisters, Anna (Marvin) Bargfrede and Carolyn Fiedler; sister-in-law, Allowee (Gene) Baker; brothers-in-law, Bunk Feasel, Max Chism, and Harry Turner; son-in-law, Tommy Ward; and an infant grandson, Gregory Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Charles of the home; his children, Tom (Dee) Charles, Theresa Ward, JoEllen (Dave) Johnson, Jeff (Melinda) Divine, and Lisa (Brian) Gillen; siblings, Clyde (Sharon) Charles, Lena Charles, Ruth Charles, Terry Fiedler, Elva Turner, Mary (George) Stockdale, and Marilyn (Kenny) Fangman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Myrna) Chism, Peggy Feasel, Vera (Larry) Beach, Janice (Glenn) Jarvis, Sammy Daly, Larry (Marsha) Chism, Rick (Alicia) Chism, and Glenda (Ronnie) Underwood; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lindley Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Shriners Hospital for Children. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

Kevin Wilson

Kevin Wilson passed from this earth Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Denton, Texas. Born on June 4, 1988 in Wichita, Kansas, to Marvin and Mary Wilson, Kevin spent his primitive years living and growing in Frontenac, Kansas. He was a graduate of the class of 2007 of Frontenac high school. He then went on to obtain his CDL from Fort Scott Community College in 2009 with which he made a career of driving across the country. He had previously driven for Conway Trucking, Swift, J.B. Hunt, S&T Trucking, Scoular Grain, and most recently was driving as a Lease Owner Operator for Snider & Sons out of Neosho, Missouri where he had enjoyed working for the last 5 years.

Kevin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kristen on October, 6th 2018 in Webb City, Missouri. Together they shared over 7 years of marriage and over a decade of love, laughter, travel, and an unwavering bond that was uniquely their own. 

Kevin loved working on and dreaming about cars of all kinds, fishing for trout and crappie, camping at Roaring River and Crawford State park, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was never more at peace than when sitting around a fire, sharing stories and struggles and laughing long into the midnight hours with those he cared about. In his off time, he could often be found enjoying working on home projects, day dreaming of fast cars, and playing games with friends and family. He was most proud of the life that he and his wife were building together. While he may have struggled with the distinction of being a truck driver from time to time, there was a stoic pride that was apparent in the skill he had in his trade and the care he put into his truck and life. This was especially evident to everyone who knew him by his appreciation for the big yellow Kenworth he called a second home.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Kristen (Henningen) Wilson, of the home, his parents, Marvin and Mary (McKenna) Wilson, of Frontenac, KS., a sister, Kristin (Chris) Beard, of Round Rock, Texas, two nephews, Lawrence Beard and Alex Beard of Round Rock, Texas. He is preceded in death by grandparents Kenneth and Julia (Trytek) Wilson of Girard, KS., and Joe and Gertrude (Harrigan) McKenna of Weir, KS.

He is also survived by additional family; birth-mother Shannon (Ware) Greene of Wichita, KS., siblings Grace Greene, John Greene, and James Greene, of Winchester,VA., grandparents Tom and Elaine Ware of Wichita, Kansas, and Lloyd and Kathy Cary, of Minnesota. Kevin is also loved and missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral mass has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS. A rosary will be held prior to the mass starting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the church. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory in Joplin, MO.

Bridger Boggs

Bridger Ransom Boggs, age 6, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home in rural Stotts City, MO. He was born in Stotts City, MO on Tuesday, January 28, 2020; son of Duste and Erin (Stewart) Boggs. Bridger was a happy little man, a little cowboy, and was deeply loved by his entire family. 

Full of life and always on the move, Bridger could often be seen riding around on his little Segway. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours playing with his brothers. He often had a rope in his hands, roping anything he could. He was looking forward to deer season this year and was already preparing for it. Bridger loved Jesus; he enjoyed learning about Him and attending church. He had so much love for others. While hearts are broken with this unimaginable loss, comfort is found in knowing that Bridger has gone to meet his Saviour. Though his time on earth was short, he made a big impact on many. He will be missed! 

Surviving are the following: his parents, Duste and Erin Boggs; siblings, Duste Jr., Constance, Myles, Conarie, Clara, Canyon, Cherrie, Catron, Brighton, Tractor, Echo, and Creek; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; grandparents, Mitchell and Cora Boggs, Jana Stewart, and Bill Stewart; nieces and nephews; uncles and aunts; cousins; and friends.

Carolyn Ledbetter

Carolyn Yvonne Ledbetter, 85, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away on August 27, 2026, from natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and steadfast devotion to the people she loved.

Carolyn was born on April 3, 1941, in rural Sarcoxie, the daughter of late Kenneth and Velma Barnes Jacobs. She grew up with the values of hard work, humility, and faith that would guide her throughout her life. Carolyn graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1959, and she carried the lessons of her upbringing with grace and determination into every season of her journey.

On June 18, 1976, she married William D. Ledbetter, and together they shared many wonderful memories until his passing on October 22, 1996. Their marriage was built on love, companionship, and the blessing of a life shared in both ordinary days and special moments. Carolyn treasured her family above all else, and her heart was always full when she was surrounded by those she loved. She was the kind of woman who made others feel welcome, valued, and cared for, and she lived out those qualities with a gentle and faithful spirit.

Carolyn devoted over thirty years of service as a bookkeeper for Carthage Marble and Sarcoxie Nurseries before her retirement. She was known for her reliability, diligence, and strong work ethic, and she approached her responsibilities with quiet excellence. Beyond her work, Carolyn was deeply committed to her church and her community. She was a faithful member of Sarcoxie New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday School for many years and shared her love of the Lord with others. She also served as a board member of the Sarcoxie Cemetery Association for several years, demonstrating her care for her community and her respect for those who came before her.

Carolyn found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, solving sudoku puzzles, watching Fox News, and monthly chicken dinners at Sarcoxie Senior Center. She also adored her little dog, Lucy, who brought her comfort and companionship. These interests reflected the warmth of her personality and the peaceful rhythms of a life well lived.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Lynn Welde of Webb City and Jana Leigh Fuerst of Joplin; her grandchildren, Levi Welde, Leif Welde and their father, Mike Welde, Jordan Nichols and husband Steven, and Alexandra Fuerst; her great-grandchildren, Myles Welde, Addison Nichols, Karlie Nichols, and Jace Nichols. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family members and friends who will forever remember her loving and friendly nature.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Cari Joann Hall, and her siblings, Deirdre Lowe and Larry Jacobs. 

Her memory will be cherished with deep gratitude, and her family and friends will continue to hold her close in their hearts. Carolyn’s life was a beautiful example of perseverance, compassion, and Christian faith, and she will be remembered as a loving and friendly woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to many.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with Pastor Eder Aguirre officiating. Burial will follow at Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be Levi Welde, Steven Nichols, Mike Welde, Leif Welde, Jace Nichols and Myles Welde. Mary Rose

Mary Alice Rose, age 92, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at Aspire Senior Living Roaring River in Cassville, Missouri.

She was born August 18, 1934, in Washburn, the daughter of Walter J. and Laura A. (Sparks) Bruton. On April 22, 1953, in Washburn, she was united in marriage to Charles R. “Doc” Rose, who preceded her in death on December 18, 2013. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Gale Rose, granddaughter, Brandy Rose; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, David Rose and his wife Ronda of Exeter, Missouri and Rick Rose and his wife Kris of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Travis, Kobe and Brandon; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way.

Mary grew up in Washburn and graduated from Washburn High School. She worked as a stitcher at both Jumping Jack Shoe Factory and Justin Boot Factory in Cassville, Missouri. She later worked for Able 2, where she remained until her retirement.

Mary loved her family dearly and treasured the time she spent with them. She enjoyed gardening, playing board games and card games, and creating memories with those she loved. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Washburn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 31, 2026 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Dayton Brattin will conduct the services. Burial will be at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Kennith Gideon

Kennith Gene Gideon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was born November 25, 1937, and entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2026, at the age of 88.

Kennith son of Mose Gideon and Mattie Harris Gideon was a man of strong character, firm convictions, and a straightforward nature. He believed in doing things properly and took pride in his work, his responsibilities, and the people to whom he was devoted. He was known as a hardworking and determined man who valued doing things his own way and standing by his word.

Throughout his working life, Kennith worked as a backhoe operator and in the plumbing and cemetery trade alongside his father-in-law. He also worked at Eagle-Picher. His career reflected the qualities that defined him, his dependability, persistence, and a willingness to work hard and get the job done.

Kennith had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses and spending time in nature. He particularly enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado. In the later years of his life, he developed a passion for woodworking, dedicating his time and attention to the craft. He also enjoyed his tomatoes and strawberries and appreciated the simple pleasures of life.

An important part of Kennith’s legacy was his many years of service to charitable causes. He was actively involved with The Kidney Foundation Ride for Life and the St. Jude Ride for Life, serving as chairman and co-chairman for many years. He gave generously of his time and leadership in support of these causes and took his responsibilities seriously.

Kennith was united in marriage to Leatress Leuellen, on June 27th, 1958, with whom he shared his life and family.

He is survived by his wife Leatress and daughter, Teresa Carlin and her husband, Larry; grandchildren Jonathan Carlin and Jennifer Wilson and her husband, Jake; great-grandchildren Inman Gideon, Dixie Gideon, Adrian Carlin, and Alyviah Wilson; his brother, Oddie Gideon; his sister, Joyce Kern, Tiffany, Matthew, Paige, Sara, Madison, Lane; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Jimmie Gideon and Wayne Gideon; brothers Norman, Clyde, Clifford, Donnie and Arthur Gideon; sisters Twyla Carter, Lola Mae Myers, Louise Mahurin, and Phyllis Manar.

Kennith Gene Gideon leaves behind a legacy of hard work, service, determination, and devotion to his family. He will be remembered with respect and affection and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard Stephens

Richard Scott Stephens passed away on August 20th, 2026 in Springfield, MO following an illness.

Richard was born September 28th, 1965 in Ontario, OR to David James and Arlene Lucille (Mohler) Stephens. He was the youngest and therefor spoiled by his parents and older siblings, who will miss him dearly. When he wanted his favorite food he would just bat his eyes and ask his mother for KFC where she would barely hesitate to say well I guess so.

In 1984 Richard joined the military after high school, serving in Desert Storm. He was stationed in Germany and honorably discharged in 1991. During his time in Germany he married Beate Ulrich in 1988. Shortly after they and son David welcomed another son Nic who was Richards pride and joy. They later divorced and Richard moved back to the US where he rein listed and served in Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2005, where he was also honorably discharged.

Richard was a humorous guy always telling and pulling jokes on people. He was a great friend to those who knew him and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. One of Richards favorite things to do was go back to his hometown and visit with his best friends Jack and Joe Getman where they would tell stories of the good old days when he ran around with them and his brothers. You could always find Rich with a cold Mountain Dew in his hands wherever he went, whether it be visiting with friends, playing the computer or Xbox, or visiting his favorite town in Uranus, MO. He loved arguing with his son Nic on their football teams between the chiefs and ravens, but even after was so proud to show off pictures of his son Nic and Daughter in law and his grandkids.

Richard is survived by his son Nicolas Stephens and wife Nicole of Monfeld, Germany, their children Samuel and Elly. His Stepson David Ulrich and wife Julia of Stadtprozelten, Germany, their children Ida and Leo. His Fiancé Sharon Castagno of the home and her son Adam McWilliams. His siblings; Wanda Tucker of Knoxville, TN. Hazel Swinney of Park City, KS. Christine Stephens of Valley Center, KS. Davida Powell of Pink, OK. Lavena Folk (Robert) of Oswego, KS. Brenda Fullhart of Oswego, KS. James Stephens (Kim) of Miami, OK. Irita Long of Grove, OK. Floyd Stephens of Noel, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death and awaited with open arms by his parents, his brothers David L Stephens, Martin Stephens, William “Ted” Stephens. His sisters Virginia Stephens, Naomi Stephens, Caroline Stephens, and Eva Stephens. Nephews Jesse Stephens and William “Joey” Stephens.

Richard will be deeply missed but always remembered. Family and friends are invited to come remember Richard on Friday August 28th and the community building in Chetopa, Ks from 3-7 a private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Billy Reynolds

Billy Ray Reynolds, Sr., age 71, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on August 27, 2026, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following a short illness.

He was born on November 4, 1954, in Joplin, Missouri, and lived a life marked by devotion to family, service, and hard work. Billy was the son of the late Chester Reynolds, Sr. and Katherine (Clevenger) Faulkner. He carried the values of perseverance and responsibility throughout his life, and those who knew him will remember him as adventurous, handy, and selfless.

Billy attended Edson Senior High in Stockton, California, and after school he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marines. His military service reflected the deep patriotism that remained a defining part of who he was. He was proud of his country and lived with a strong sense of duty, honor, and respect for others.

Following his time in the Marines, Billy returned to civilian life and built a long and dedicated career with the City of Joplin. He served for 33 years as a Motor Equipment Operator, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to do whatever was needed. His years of service left a lasting impression on his coworkers and the community he helped support through his labor and commitment.

Billy was a man who valued the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved to read, enjoyed spending quality time with his family, and found joy in being surrounded by the people he loved most. He was deeply patriotic and carried himself with quiet strength. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and dependability to those around him, and he will be remembered for the steady and caring way he lived his life.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Reynolds of Joplin, Missouri; his son, Billy Reynolds, Jr. of Joplin, Missouri; and his daughter, Nikki Eby of Seneca, Missouri. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Clayton Bryant, Courtney Kellogg, and Amber Higgins, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Enslee, Rylie, and Laken. One sister, Cindy Thomas of Joplin. Billy cherished his family and took great pride in each generation that followed him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Reynolds, Sr. and Katherine (Clevenger) Faulkner and siblings, Chester Reynolds, Jr. and Phyllis Regner. Their memory remained an important part of his life, and he carried their influence with him always.

Those who knew Billy will remember a man who was adventurous in spirit, practical in skill, and generous in heart. He lived with humility and strength, and he faced life with a steady determination that inspired others. His legacy will live on through the family he loved, the work he completed, and the many lives he touched along the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.

Eloise Fredrick

Jane "Eloise" Fredrick, age 98, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Aurora, MO. She was born in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, November 16, 1927; daughter of Ralph Dudley and Eunice (Dummitt) Tate. She graduated from Pierce City High School and lived here until just a couple of years ago. She retired after working 35 years at the shoe factory. 

Eloise enjoyed sewing, flowers, collecting antique dolls, and cooking. She always looked forward to antique shopping. Eloise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pierce City. She treasured her time with her son, James, and always took care of him. She loved him so much. 

Eloise is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Tate Fredrick; many cousins; and friends. She was welcomed to heaven by her parents, Ralph and Eunice Tate; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Graveside services will be at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City, MO on Friday, September 4, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.

 

Bob Sappington

Robert “Bob” W. Sappington, 72 of Jay, Oklahoma entered into rest on August 27, 2026 in Joplin, MO. He was born on March 21, 1954, in Weltzer, Germany, as one of three children to Homer J. and Hildegard M. L. (Wiesebach) Sappington. 

Robert served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. Passionate about his trade, he continued to work on helicopters for the Bristow Group in Louisiana for nearly 40 years thereafter. 

As a pastime, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it be at the lake or riding his motorcycles. 

Surviving him is his wife of 50 years, Donna Sappington of Jay, Ok; their son, Richard Sappington and wife Sylvia, five grandchildren: Dominic, Amaya, Joaquin, Lilah and Naomi of Neosho; 2 sisters, Pam Hartmann and Linda Hedges; and numerous extended family.

Private family services will be held.

Robert Lawrence

Robert Lucas Lawrence, age 46 of Marionville, Missouri, passed away on August 26, 2026.

Robert was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. More than anything, he loved his girls, Kassi and Kizzy. They were his pride and joy, and his love for them was immeasurable. His family meant everything to him, and he had a special gift for making everyone around him smile.

Robert loved his dogs, enjoyed camping and working in his garden, and found great joy in working with and caring for the elderly. His kind heart, warm personality, and love for others will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Kassi May Del Rio Lawrence and Kizzy Rose Atkisson; his mother, Clara Rohlman, and stepfather, Randall Rohlman; his brother, Lance Henry; his sister, Linsey Eshleman, and her husband, James Eshleman; his grandparents, Robert and Shirley Lawrence; his step-grandfather, Jimmie Rohlman; his aunt, Kitty Lawrence; his uncle, Johnny Lawrence; his niece, Brynn Henry; his nephews, Jae and Jayson Eshleman; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandmother, Carol Rohlman.

Robert will always be remembered for the happiness he brought into the lives of others, his devotion to his family, and the love and kindness he shared so freely. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he gave—especially to his girls—will remain in our hearts forever.

Neal McGehee

Neal Winston McGehee, Jr., 82, of Marionville passed away on August 25, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born March 15, 1944 in Aurora, Missouri. He was the son of Neal W. McGehee and Wilma (Stockard) McGehee.

On March 18, 1965 he married Carmen (Carson) McGehee.

He was a 1962 graduate of Marionville High School. He eventually took his growing family to the Uinta Mountains of Northeast Utah where he spent 11 years handling chainsaws as a logger. Returning to Missouri, he spent 30 years as an over the road truck driver crisscrossing the United States. Eventually, he purchased his own truck and his wife Carmen joined him on the road as a husband-and-wife driving duo with many stories to share.

After retirement, he loved camping on the lake with Carmen, fishing (including catching dinner each night), working in his shop repairing small engines like lawn mowers and chainsaws. There was not much he could not fix. He also loved playing guitar and bass and performing in groups with fellow musicians singing southern gospel favorites and Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Marionville for over 40 years serving as a deacon and always helping wherever needed.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen McGehee; a son, Michael (Tammy) McGehee and a daughter, Melissa (Zach) Cochran; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Gallagher and stepmother Dorothy McGehee.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church in Marionville. Visitation will be held Saturday the 5th from 9:00 AM until Service time in the Church.

Stephanie Mead

Stephanie Ann Mead, 79, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Stephanie was born on May 13, 1947, to the late Harold and Helen Grieb, in Carthage. 

After graduating high school, Stephanie received her bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State University. She became a medical technician and worked for the Red Cross, St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, Cox South Hospital in Springfield, and Skaggs Hospital in Branson. In her free time, she liked to do different crafts. She was very creative and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. 

She is survived by her son Andrew Mead and his wife, Midelen of Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, Michelle Grieb of Sarcoxie, Kathy Yeager and her husband, Tom, and Heidi Ramsey both of Joplin; three grandchildren, James Mead, Justin Mead, and Dayna Mead; and one great-grandchild, Malachi Henry. 

There will be a funeral service for Stephanie at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Ulmer Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Dudman Springs in Carthage, immediately following the service.

Gary Kyger

Gary Lynn Kyger ended his journey on Earth on August 25, 2026. Gary was born the 7th of 8 brothers on August 4, 1944, to Edward Herald Kyger and Fern Helen Fullerton Kyger in Diamond, Missouri.

Gary’s work life included a foreman in construction, a draftsman in designing houses and churches, and manager of properties in the states of Missouri, Arkansas, and Wyoming. Gary’s greatest joys were playing guitar with friends, providing music for churches and nursing homes, and playing with his two great grandsons, Riff and Kolter. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Herald, Bob, Rev J.B, Don, Louie, and Naaman. 

He is survived by his brother, Johnny Kyger (Diana) of Carthage, Missouri; his daughter, Tara Kyger of Carl Junction, Missouri; his grandson, Brayden (Kaycia) of Joplin, Missouri; two great grandsons, Kolter and Riff; many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Barbara Goulding of Joplin, Missouri. 

In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the Goodman Baptist Church (Goodman, Missouri), Calvary Baptist Church (Carthage), or FORCE Community Center (Joplin). 

There will be a funeral service for Gary at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage. The visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM the evening before on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Dudman Springs Cemetery in Carthage, immediately following the service.

Amaya Jones

Amaya Marie Jones, a precious soul, born on May 8, 2026, in Joplin, MO, left this world far too soon, peacefully in her sleep, on August 23, 2026. In her brief time with us, Amaya brought an immeasurable amount of joy and love to those around her. She was the beloved daughter of Rachel Lynn Ledbetter and Donald Raymond Jones II.

Though she was with us for only a short period, Amaya's radiant spirit touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was affectionately known as "Lunchbox" due to her endearing love for food. Amaya's days were filled with the warmth of cuddles, especially with her mom, dad, maternal grandmother Bonnie Young, and siblings Kingston Jones, Hillana Jones, Dastan Jones, Audrey Jones, Kathryn Ledbetter, and of course her twin sister Brielle Jones. 

The delight of bright colors and music brought her such joy. Her sassy personality was a testament to her vibrant spirit, as she always made sure her feelings were known, whether she was happy or not. Her infectious smile, especially when being talked to, would light up the room, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of her family and friends.

Amaya was involved in Early Head Start, where she was cherished by those she encountered. Though she was too young for traditional education, her presence was a lesson in love and joy for all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving parents, Rachel and Donald, who cherished every moment they spent with their beautiful daughter. Amaya is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Shelley R. Jones, paternal grandfather Donald Ray Jones, and maternal aunt Mary Katherine Young. The memories of these beloved family members will no doubt keep Amaya company in the heavens above.

A service to celebrate Amaya's life will be held at Clark Funeral Home located at 312 S Wood Street, Neosho, MO. Friday, September 4th at 4 to 5pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the precious life of Amaya Marie Jones, sharing memories and finding comfort in each other.

Amaya will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, a small but profound presence that will never be forgotten.

Joan Westerman

Joan Westerman was born October 01, 1934, to Glen Robertson and Dorothy (Kile) Robertson.

She spent most of her early life in Billings, MO. area, where she graduated High School.

In 1952, she married Carl Westerman, and together they had eight children.

Joan spent most of her life raising their children and working on their dairy farm. She later worked at French’s, where she retired in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl and two sons- Dean and Ronnie, also her son-in-law, Kenneth Arnall.

Joan is survived by six children, Donna Arnall, Jim Westerman and his wife Kathy, Pam Lowther and her husband Ray, all of Springfield, MO., Debbie Kimberling, her husband Larry, of Clever, MO., Terry Westerman and his wife Ronda, of Aurora, MO., and Joe Westerman and his wife Bambi, of Walnut Grove, MO. Also surviving Joan is grandchildren, Becky, Sherri, Carl, Heather, Travis, Luke, Stacy, Amanda, Samantha, Lynette, Jeremy, Smokey and Taylor; twenty-five Great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Pam, for being mom’s primary caregiver, day and night, through the good and bad days. Thank you, Pam!

And to everyone who made mom smile this last year, whether it was a visit, a “hello”, a kiss, holding her hand, or being whoever she thought you were, thank you also!

Angie Osler

Angelita Tagle Osler, age 89, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Angie was born on May 31, 1937, in Winters, TX, to the late Simon and Concepcion (Cerda) Tagle. She worked and cared for many residents at Spring River Christian Village as a CNA for countless years. She was known by those who knew her best as a gentle and caring woman whose warmth could be felt in every room she entered. 

Angie married Herman Osler on July 17, 1994, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they were blessed with 32 years of marriage before her passing. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to rummage sales, where she delighted in the search for something special and the pleasure of a good find. She also loved walking around the neighborhood with friends, taking time to enjoy conversation and companionship. She took great pride in tending to her flowers and working in the yard. She also loved going out to eat with her friends and church friends. Above all, Angie cherished time with her family. She especially loved being with her children and grandchildren, and her face would light up when she was surrounded by the people who meant the most to her. Her family was the center of her heart, and she gave them her love, encouragement, and steady presence throughout her life. Those who knew Angie will remember her as kind, selfless, and generous. She had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for, and she was always ready to offer a helping hand or a thoughtful word.

In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by two children, Larry Gilmore and Rebecca Gilmore.

Angie is survived by her loving husband, Herman Osler; three children, Rose Conner, of Webb City, MO, Daniel Gilmore, of Jacksonville, FL, and David Gilmore, of Rogers, AR; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Juanita Gilmore, of Carthage, MO, Raymond Tagle (Gloria), of San Antonio, TX, Phillip Tagle (Roseanne), of San Antonio, TX, Joe Tagle (Rosa), of San Antonio, TX, Mary Moore, and Adam Tagle, of San Antonio, TX.

The family would like to personally thank Trinity Hospice, David Gilmore, Bill Gilmore, and many others for the exceptional care and compassion for Angie.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Freeman officiating. Burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Nick Gilmore, Justin Gilmore, Shawn Conner, Fate Conner, William Gilmore, and Mike Hill serving as pallbearers.

Bill Fischer

Van William (Bill) Fischer was born February 23, 1938, to Walter and Marie (Gorrell) Fischer in Smithville, IL. Bill went to school K-12 in Pierce City; graduating in 1956. He played football for Coach "Poss" Jackson all four years. He also played baseball. 

He met the love of his life, Jackie Sue Pierce, in grade school, and they were united in marriage on May 3, 1958; and spent 59 years together. To this marriage, four children were born: Julie "Fischer" Morrison and husband, John; Debbie "Fischer" Osterloh Williams and husband, Ed; Penny "Fischer" Graves and husband, Richard; and the late William "Billy" V. Fischer; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Mickey Fischer; and a sister, Nancy Henderson and husband, Keith; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He will be missed by many! 

Bill served twenty years in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Vet. Upon retirement, he spent many years as a brick and stone mason. He helped build the flooded mine at Silver Dollar City and the Battlefield Mall in Springfield. He did masonry on the Masonic Lodge that was taken down in the tornado of 2003. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post of Pierce City where he served as past commander. He was a member of Decatur Lodge #400 in Pierce City and also a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple in Springfield where he belonged to the Shrine Clown Unit, joining in 1983. As a Shriner, he sponsored a local child with a disability to go to Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis for treatment to help her walk.

In his spare time, Bill enjoyed woodcarving and especially mountain men on logs and many three-dimension characters that he sold at craft shows. One of his biggest carving was the front doors of the Methodist Church in Pierce City. He loved to deer hunt and fish. He looked forward to the annual American Legion fishing trip to Twin Bridges on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. After a day of fishing, laughing, and beer drinking, it was back to base camp where he was "chief" cook. Nothing compared to dad going deer hunting and coming home with a deer in the trunk of his car. There are too many stories to tell; too many secrets to keep. 

Welcoming Bill to heaven included his parents, Walter and Marie Fischer; his wife, Jackie Sue Fischer; his son, Billy Fischer; and his dog, Little Brownie.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will begin at 8:00 PM.

Burial, with Military Honors, will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Gary Lynn Robertson, age 82, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 12:48 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Cox South Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his family. He was born February 12, 1944, in Albatross, Missouri, the son of Harold and Chloina (Williams) Robertson.

Gary was a 1962 graduate of Quinter High School, in Quinter, Kansas, and received his bachelor's degree from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas, in 1966. He was a biology teacher and coach for Wynne High School in Wynne, Arkansas, for four years, before starting his career at Roadway Express as a Terminal Operations Manager in Strafford, Missouri, retiring after 30 years. He was an elder of the Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church.

On November 12, 1981, he married the love of his life Gale Jean Miller, in Springfield, Missouri. They were blessed with 45 years of love and laughter.

He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, watching westerns, and Ornithology.

He will be greatly missed by all but will always reside in our hearts as we continue this difficult journey without him. We will miss the long talks with endless advice, I Love You’s, and big hugs. We will be forever grateful for his sacrifices, hard work, and unconditional love, and we feel privileged that we were able to call him Husband, Dad, Pop, and Papa Gary.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Gale; six daughters, Cassandra Robertson of Joplin, Missouri, Ashley Robertson and fiancé, Quan of Springfield, Missouri, Amanda Cantrell and her husband, Ed, of Republic, Missouri, Crystal Grove and her husband, Aaron, of Webb City, Missouri, Jennifer Robertson of Springfield, Missouri and Michele Nelson and her husband, Craig, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one brother, Mark Robertson and his wife, Teresa, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Makenna, Malea, Liam, Leighton, Dalton, Austin and wife, Noelle, Dylan and wife, Victoria, Dane and wife, Megan, Austin, and Dakota; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded by his parents, Harold, and Chloina Robertson, and two brothers, Harold David and Dale Allen.

A visitation under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church northeast of Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Ozark Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made payable to the Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
