Eva Brown

Eva May Brown, 86, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at 5:35 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Wildwood Senior Living in Joplin after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Eva was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a strong unwavering faith in God. She was a fabulous cook and gracious hostess who loved to entertain guests
and family. She loved traveling with her husband, Bill, going on several cruises and going to Maui on 26 separate occasions. While in Maui, she enjoyed snorkeling, luaus and parasailing. Eva had a servant’s heart and radiated joy. She had a gentle loving spirt, was soft spoken, but had a quick wit.








Eva was born on May 13, 1938, in Aurora, Missouri. She graduated from Marionville High School in
1956, then moved to Glendale, California where she worked as a secretary in the shipping department
for Don Baxter Pharmaceuticals. There she would meet her soon-to-be husband, Bill.

She married Bill Brown on July 21, 1962, in La Crescenta, California and had two children Rick and Cindy. They then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1968 staying until 1972. Later they moved to Joplin where she worked as an administrative assistant to the Vice-President at TAMKO before retiring in 1992. She had been a member of Forest Park Baptist Church since 1973.

Eva is survived by her devoted loving spouse of 62 years, Bill Brown. Eva is also survived by her son; Rick (Tammy) Brown of Carthage, Missouri and daughter; Cindy (Doug) Ward of Joplin, Missouri, brother; Johnny Bigelow of Sedalia, Missouri, sisters; Carol Sue Hargus of Aurora, Missouri and Barbara (Carroll) Kean of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, eight grandchildren; Dustin (Hannah) Brown, Jason (Kali) Brown, Nathan (Holly) Brown, Alicia Shofner, Marissa (Samuel) Womble, Sarina Shofner, Brent (Morgan) Ward, and Amber (Ashton) Cate, and sixteen Great-Grandchildren; Cardin Brown, Maclin Brown, Creed Brown, Knox Brown, Trace Brown, Brooks Brown, Ily Brown, Brody Brown, Aubrey Brown, Rowdy Brown, Hadley Wright, Hudsynn Wright, Jack Wright, Adalie Womble, Asher Womble, Judah Cate.








She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Opal Bigelow; brother, Richard Bigelow, and sister,
Joan Wise.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Baptist Church, 725 S Highview Ave. Joplin, MO, on November 9th at 10 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m. Graveside following at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery at
415 N St. Louis Ave.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory, Joplin, Missouri.
