(From Peterson Funeral Chapel)Gloria "Jeanie" Jean Williams, 84, of Aurora passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. She was born February 23, 1941 in Oshkosh, WI., the daughter of William and Opal (Davis) Cleek. Jeanie loved working in her yard and garden, loved cooking for her family and she enjoyed running the food pantry at her church.
Survivors include, two sons, Deryck Maples and wife Fran of Bradenton, FL. and Darren Maples of Aurora, MO.; two daughters, Pam Hickson and husband, Bruce of Columbia, TN. and Susan Vanderhoof and husband, Mark of Marionville, MO.; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jeanie married Robert Snipes January 26, 1988 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2005 and then married Sherman Williams on December 31, 2007 and he preceded her in death March 4, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Aaron and Bill Cleek; and two sisters, Lenora Wiley and Martha Vermillion.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18 at 2:00 PM in the Peterson Funeral Chapel with David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Convoy of Hope or the Victory Mission in Springfield in care of the funeral home.
