Mike Howard

Jack M. Howard, known to many as Mike, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Freeman Hospital following a short illness. He was born on April 17, 1939, to Woodrow and Betty Howard. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Howard; and his beloved wife of many years, Betsy Howard.

Mike worked for GAB as an insurance adjuster for many years. After his retirement, he and Betsy moved back to Joplin. He was very active in his retirement delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.

Mike is survived by his four children and their spouses: Kim Moore and her husband Bruce, Shannon Crawford and her husband Todd, Scott Howard and his wife Rachel, and Joel Howard and his wife Angie. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Seth Crawford and his wife Katie, Maggie England and her husband Jack, Jessica Oveys and her husband Hossein, Tyler Howard and his wife Mika, and Josh Howard. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, along with his cherished dog and cat, Fred and Barney.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
