Oral “Dean” Rose, age 90, of Jasper, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was born in Jasper County near Alba, Missouri to Lawrence D. Rose and Irene (Patrick) Rose. Dean was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked at Vickers for 31 years having retired in 1983. Dean was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #322 where he was a past commander for 4 years, and also a lifetime member of the Webb City VFW Post #7630. He was baptized in 2009.
Dean is survived by his wife, Marie Rose of the home; sons, Jeff Rose; Jack Rose and wife Cierra; daughters, Vickie Rose and significant other Shane Jordan, Darlene Norwood; grandchildren, Jeremy and Brett Rose, Karissa Jordan, and Nicole Kirkpatrick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife in 1981, 3 brothers and 1 daughter and 1 son.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Missouri with full military rites. The family will be present for visitation on Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM.
