Norma was born June 2, 1930 in Picher, Oklahoma to the late William and Harvey (Trimble) Russell. She retired from management at AT&T in St. Louis. Norma June was a member of First United Methodist Church of Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, William, Harvey, Eugene and Donald.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Joye Russell; four nieces and nephews, Liz Fugate, Jeanie Brooks, Monte Russell and Jay Russell; her special caregiver, Pat Bernard; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will hold a graveside committal at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Carterville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Joplin Humane Society.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
