(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Georgia Loretta Finney, age 87 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 29, 2021 following a sudden decline in health.
She was born February 25, 1934 in Visalia, California to Harry Alvah and Susan Ethel (Wallace) Donaldson. She has been a resident of Joplin since 2004, when she moved here to help begin Oasis Church.
Loretta married the love of her life, Pastor Lowell L. Finney on February 14, 1959. They had two sons together, Pastor Steve Finney and Pastor Daryl Finney.
Loretta loved being a Pastor herself at Faith Temple. She enjoyed helping members of the church, especially the seniors. She also enjoyed cooking for Messenger Bible College. She will be remembered for the thousands of items she crocheted in her free time.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Lowell Finney; both parents; five sisters and four brothers.
Loretta is survived by her two sons, Pastor Steve Finney and wife Heather of Joplin; Pastor Daryl Finney and wife Debbie of Turlock, CA; grandchildren, Devon Newcomb and husband Steffan; Derek Finney; Daren Finney; Denae Finney; Shelby Mitchell and husband Trent; Breeana Finney; Madelyn Finney; Victoria Finney; great-grandchildren, Charlie Newcomb; Raelynn Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 8, 2021 at Oasis Church. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00-5:00 pm Sunday at the mortuary, and an hour prior to service at Oasis Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels America, in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
