(From Parker Mortuary)Michael “Mike” Roy Favors, age 67, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Mike was born June 2nd, 1955 in Plattsmouth, NE to the late union of Charles and Ruth (Kammerer) Favors. He grew up in Nebraska, but has spent most of his life with his wife, Shelley Davenport.
Mike and Shelley united in marriage on March 20th, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma and celebrated their 45th year anniversary this year.
He enjoyed watching birds out of his kitchen window while they sat on the bird feeder. Mike worked in construction and loved to stay busy. He was a generous and thoughtful man that would help anyone that was in need. He loved being around his family and friends. He was an amazing baker and on Thanksgiving you could always find him baking the dinner rolls.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pat Favors.

Mike is survived by his wife, Shelley, of the home; son, Michael Favors and wife, Shannon, of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Edward Favors and wife, Marie, and Rod Favors and wife, Rana, both of Columbus, KS; two sisters, Cheryl June and Charlotte Swartzer and husband, Doug, of Livingston, MT; sister-in-law, Margaret Greninger and husband, Jim, of Quapaw, OK; brother-in-law, Joseph “Joe” Davenport, of Joplin, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the American Kidney Foundation.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
