(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Michael John Blevins, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born September 27, 1947, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of John and Charlene Blevins.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Blevins Asphalt for over 25 years and was a member of the Mt. Vernon VFW Post 4541 and enjoyed playing golf.
On July 21, 1967, he married Diana Faye Guenther, in Branson, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2013.
Michael is survived by two daughters, Christina Weter and her husband, Rick, of Miller, Missouri and Tara Shirley of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one grandson, Shane Shirley of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one sister, Patty Blevins of Joplin, Missouri; brother-in-law, Mark Guenther and his wife, Twila, of Carthage, Missouri and sister-in-law, Karen Hunt of Springfield, Missouri.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John, and Charlene; wife, Diana; son-in-law, Mike Shirley; one brother, Kelly Blevins; one sister, Rita and brother-in-law, Wayne Guenther.
